Location of Casa Mar y Luna
Panoramic Ocean and Mountain Views
From Casa Mar y Luna you will enjoy dramatic sunrises to the southeast, as well as some of Costa Rica's most fabulous Pacific sunsets to the northwest. Regardless of the season, you'll be hypnotized by the beauty of this unique spot
Located a convenient 2 minute drive up a gently sloping gravel road from the main Coastal Highway, Casa Mar y Luna is centrally-located to the wealth of activities and destinations that the fantastic southern Pacific Coast offers. We are also conveniently located near Dominical, Costa Rica's emerging luxury resort and residential community as well as Ojochal, a local expatriate community with several gourmet restaurants and quaint B&B inns. Playa Ventanas, one of the most beautiful beaches in southern Costa Rica, is located only 30 minutes away. Convenient flights on both of Costa Rica's domestic airlines come in and out of Palmar Sur Municipal airport located 40 minutes away south or Quepos located 40 minutes away towards the north.
Water activities such as surfing, scuba diving at Cano Island (sometimes visible from the property), sportfishing, and kayaking (the bluffs near Ventanas and Pinuela Beach are a popular destination for kayaking tours) are available year-round.
National Parks: Marina Ballena National Park (15 minutes), Hacienda Baru Nature Reserve (30 minutes), Manuel Antonio National Park (90 minutes), and Corcovado National Park (2 hours by car and boat) located on the Osa Peninsula called by National Geographic "the most biologically diverse place on the planet". Wilson Botanical Gardens features over 6,000 species of tropical plants (2 hours).
The scenic "Costanera Sur", or Southern Pacific Highway. On the Costanera Sur, you will find fantastic scenery, reminiscent of Big Sur, California - but in the tropics. Along the way, you will find local restaurants featuring local shrimp and other seafood, countless hidden coves and beaches, palm plantations and ranches, laid-back fishing communities, and natural attractions featuring mangroves and estuaries.
